Wow! Did Ms. Boccongelle fool students!!!!
We have been learning about Informational Text, text features of informational text, and reliable sources.
One day, we explored a website about "the tree octopus". This is not a real animal! It was set up by a teacher in the United States to teach students about whether or not to believe everything they read on the internet. All of our students forgot to check other students to see if the tree octopus was real!
All was not lost though, because we got good practice reading websites, doing research, and summarizing information.
Students will certainly remember to check more than one source now!!!!
